Mellow Yellow Sunflower

I took this photo a few years ago. Unfortunately my sunflowers did not fare as well this year. First we had a ground hog (or two or three) that loved the taste of tender young sunflower plants, then we had a couple that were well on their way to becoming big, beautiful plants when a windstorm broke the stems right off. Oh well, there's always next year!!!

Our 2 gorgeous Lily plants have put on quite a show for us this past week - if only there was a way to convey their heavenly aroma!!

Color Carnival

This is my color carnival post for this week...but, what exactly is it?????

Well, it is a very colorful set of sheets! My mom has recently come to stay with us and decided she wanted some purple sheets - we went to a couple of stores and no purple. In her words they had lots of beige, but who wants beige??!! Then she saw these with the colorful polka-dots and decided they would do just fine!

By the way, mom will be turning 92 next month, which just proves that you are NEVER too old to enjoy some beautiful, bright color in your life!
