Every year I am excited when I see a Baltimore Oriole at my feeder -

This has been a great year - never have I had so many,

(I have counted 4 males and 2 females at one time)

and they have stayed around longer than usual!

I have been gone for awhile due to technical difficulties -

My Amaryllis is past due for being separated and repotted -

and as a result, it has just popped with beautiful blooms this year.

Shoe Mosaic

When I was a little girl my mom & I would visit  Aunt Maude

and I was always fascinated by her collection of little glass shoes.

They were everywhere,

tabletops, shelves and especially window sills

where the sunshine would make them 

SPARKLE!!

While on a trip West Virginia when I was 9 years old,

I found a beautiful little shoe covered in shells and glitter

and mom suggested I start my own collection.

All these years later I still have my collection....

here are a few of my shoes.

My 1st shoe -

48 years and countless moves later!!

You can kind of understand how 9 year-old me

fell in love with this little shoe.

It's hard to get to that spring cleaning

when it still feels like winter!!

But I did manage, this week,

to get my pantry cleaned and organized!

Shadow Mosaic

Well it is spring!!!

And we have had lots of sNoW and VeRy cold temps this week.

One good thing...

Shadows look great against the snow!

You will notice my kitty Mimi under the bird feeders -

she is a house kitty that usually stays on the deck to enjoy the sun.

I was very surprised to see her perched under the bird feeders-

I shot the pic, then opened the door and said

"Girlfriend I don't want you there" and she came running in the door.

~  Since she usually ignores me when she is outdoors,

I'm thinkin' she just wanted her picture taken..;-) ~

It has been very pretty -

BUT

I think it's time for a little spring-like weather!!

Leaded Glass Mosaic

This leaded glass window is original to the house -
the HH was added by some previous owners.

And this window - in a window - was bought at an antique shop -

it is currently hanging at the top of the stairs

I love Hydrangeas and these two varieties are white in the summer and turn a delicate pink in autumn.

The Swan and The Heron - Mosaic Monday

It seems the swan wanted to be friends - - he kept following the heron around the pond. 

The heron, however just did not trust that big white bird!
